Frequently Asked Questions About the Digital Power Hour
I’ve got a long list of website problems – is one hour really going to be enough to make a difference?
This is probably the most common concern we hear, and it’s a fair one.
The honest answer is: it depends on what you bring to the session, and that’s why we make Power Hours genuinely bespoke.
Before your session, we’ll ask you to share details about your website and the specific challenges you’re facing. This helps us prepare in advance so we hit the ground running rather than spending the first 20 minutes just getting up to speed.
With that preparation, one hour is surprisingly powerful. We prioritise ruthlessly – together we’ll identify the two or three issues that will have the biggest impact on your business and focus the session there.
You might not fix everything in one hour, but you’ll walk away with a clear, prioritised action plan for what to tackle next and exactly how to do it.
Many clients find that one focused issue – like understanding why their SEO isn’t working, or figuring out why their site isn’t converting visitors – unlocks a whole chain of improvements they can action themselves afterwards.
If you do need more time to work through everything on your list, we can always arrange additional sessions or ongoing support. But start with the Power Hour – you might be surprised how much ground you can cover when you’re working with someone who knows exactly what to look at.
My website isn’t WordPress – will the Power Hour still work for me?
Absolutely. While WordPress is our primary area of expertise, the Power Hour covers a wide range of platforms and digital tools. We’ve worked with Squarespace, Shopify, Wix, Kajabi, and numerous other website builders, as well as tools like Canva, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, social media platforms, CRMs, and much more.
More importantly, many of the challenges small businesses face with their websites are platform-agnostic. Struggling to get traffic? Not converting visitors into customers? Unsure how to improve your SEO? Want to make your site more accessible or sustainable?
These problems – and their solutions – exist regardless of whether you built your site on WordPress, Shopify, or Squarespace.
If your challenge involves a specific platform or tool we’re less familiar with, we’ll let you know upfront rather than wasting your hour. But in our experience, the vast majority of small business website challenges fall well within what we can help with, whatever platform you’re using.
Just tell us what you’re working with when you book, and we’ll make sure the session is genuinely useful for your situation.
What happens during the session – is it a presentation, or do we actually work on my website together?
It’s very much a working session, not a lecture or generic presentation.
Think of it as having a knowledgeable friend sit down with you and your website for an hour – someone who can look at what you’ve got, spot things you might have missed, and help you fix or improve them in real time. The session takes place on a video call, and we’ll ask you to share your screen so we can look at your website together. Depending on what you need help with, we might spend time reviewing your site from a visitor’s perspective (checking how it looks, flows, and performs), diving into your SEO settings, working through your Google Analytics data to understand what’s actually happening with your traffic, troubleshooting a specific technical issue, or planning out changes you want to make.
It’s genuinely interactive – you’ll be asking questions, we’ll be giving you specific, actionable advice tailored to YOUR website, and we’ll work through challenges together rather than just talking about them in the abstract. Everything is recorded, so you can watch it back afterwards when you’re actually implementing the changes we discussed. Many clients replay specific sections of their recording when they’re working on the actions we agreed – it’s like having the expert guidance on hand even after the session ends.
I’m not very technical – will I understand what’s going on during the session, or will it go over my head?
No jargon, no assumptions about your technical knowledge – that’s a promise.
We work with small business owners and charities every day who manage their own websites without a technical background, and we’re very experienced at explaining complex concepts in plain, accessible language.
If we use a term you don’t understand, just ask – there are no silly questions in a Power Hour. We’d rather pause and explain something properly than rush through and leave you confused.
The whole point of the session is that you leave feeling empowered and confident, not more bewildered than when you started. We’ll also make sure the actions we recommend are things you can actually implement yourself with your current skills and knowledge.
If something genuinely requires technical expertise beyond what’s reasonable to expect, we’ll tell you honestly and help you understand what kind of support you’d need to get it done – rather than giving you a task that’ll just add to your frustration.
Many of our Power Hour clients come in feeling completely lost about their website and leave feeling genuinely clear about what to do next. That shift from confusion to confidence is one of the best parts of the session.
Can I buy a Power Hour as a gift for someone else?
Yes! A Digital Power Hour gift voucher makes a brilliant present for the entrepreneur, small business owner, or charity worker in your life – especially if they’ve been saying “I really need to sort out my website” for the past six months.
Gift vouchers are available to purchase online and can be sent directly to the recipient with a personalised message. They’re valid for a set period, giving the recipient plenty of time to book at a time that suits them.
It’s a genuinely thoughtful gift because it’s not just a token gesture – it’s an hour of expert, hands-on guidance that can make a real, tangible difference to their business.
Whether they need help with their SEO, want to understand why their site isn’t attracting customers, need help choosing the right platform, or just want someone to look at their website and tell them honestly what’s working and what isn’t, a Power Hour covers it.
It’s particularly lovely as a birthday, Christmas, or “congratulations on your new business” gift for someone who’s trying to grow their online presence but keeps putting it off because they don’t know where to start.
